God was the original tweeter. He understood powerful messages could be sent in short form and would be remembered. Literally any time you take a moment to focus on these truths you are shaping your mind, life, character and future. I am so glad Abby took the initiative to gather God's word in the form of Ten Big Words. Students, children, adults, anyone who touches the content will be marked. Enjoy the journey.”
~Beth Guckenberger, author of Reckless Faith, Relentless Hope and the Tales Series, Executive Director of Back2Back Ministries
This is a wonderful book that is simply laid out and so easy to read. It provides a 10-word scripture verse followed by a brief summary of the scripture and then a question to get the reader thinking about his/her life in regards to the scripture. Plus, there is plenty of room for notes! As an adult, I've struggled with memorizing scripture because of the multitude of other things raging through my brain. I think I'll enjoy this as much as my teenagers! It's refreshing to see a book like this in such a simple format vs. a "doing more". It makes it that much more inviting to pick up.

Having been a youth pastor for 15 years, I am always looking for new ways to help our students learn Scripture. Abby takes a unique approach in this book and does a fantastic job making it easy! She helps them see that the Bible can be applied to all areas of our lives and that it really can make an impact on all we do. Thank you for this resource...we will be using it at our church!
~Amy Reger, Director of Student Ministry/Horizon Community Church
I wish I had this book when my oldest two were entering their teen years. The teenage years are wrought with lies that society tells them about who they are and what they should be. Ten Big Words gives tweens and teens the ability to memorize God's truths about who they really are and who they are meant to be.
~Sarah Youngblood, Youth Minister
Memorizing scripture is such a powerful tool to stay Christ centered, to remember how much He loves us, that He is always there for us, that He will give us the strength we need. But sometimes memorization can be daunting. Where should you start? Ten Big Words is a fantastic tool to help kids, teens and their parents memorize some key Bible verses. It's simple, straight-forward and fun. Ten Big Words gives great strategies and insights for keeping God's word where we can always reach it, written on our hearts.

Abby Messner takes the mystery out of having a personal relationship with God. In this easy, accessible format, the reader is allowed to explore, ponder, and embrace simple, relevant Bible verses. The beauty is a voice that makes connections between scripture and life in the real world today; engaging, but not preachy. Regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey, this book will resonate as it is touches the heart of its reader. It's the perfect gift to continue or open a conversation about God with your kids. "10 Big Words" makes a big impact.

Abby Messner's new book is targeted for teens - a category I'm many decades past - I've found it to provide comfort, guidance and wisdom as my own journey continues. This book not only offers scripture in ten-word bites making remembrance easier, but also provides questions which have caused me to look deeper into my own faith. Would "Ten Big Words" have benefitted me as a teen? Absolutely, and parents and adults should consider it for their own teenagers. But I have found a quiet, comforting sense of stability here which is appealing to me and will provide added grist for conversations with my grandchildren.

I am so very grateful for this book. Who would have thought remembering just 10 of God's Words, so relevant to your daily life could be so easy. Abby Messner, in her book,10 Big Words, has creatively designed a simple scaffold and technique for remembering, by counting on your finger tips, a total of 50 ten word verses from the Bible. Each a meaningful message from God to be tucked in your heart and memory to help you through your day.
This unique book can be opened to any page and up seems to pop just the verse you need. I especially like her thoughtful questions that follow each quote. For example: Psalm 1:39:14 on page 4 says in exactly 10 words, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Then Abby asks you, "What are ways you can honor your body?" That may seem at first like a simple question, but right away it causes you to think and want to make God pleasing choices. This little book is packed with what could become life changing messages because when you look at your hands you cannot help but think seriously about the words you just tapped out to memorize and apply them to yourself. Though the author suggests that this technique and her book be used with teens and tweens, and this style of learning certainly fits their busy lives, I personally and highly recommend it for all ages.

Great for verse newbies and those who are more experienced with reading the Bible! Not only does 10 Big Words offer an easy to understand, real-life explanation of verses, it also poses questions to help your teen figure out their own relationship with God. This book allows them not only to learn the verses, but to understand and practice them in everyday life. What is the point of memorizing the verses if you don't know how to apply them or even fully understand what they mean? 10 Big Words makes learning and living the message of the verses easy. Read it cover to cover or open it to any page and just start reading. Not just for teens, this book is relevant to everyone!

If you're looking for ways to make the Bible and scripture more approachable for your children - grade school through teens - this is the perfect resource. 10 Big Words does a wonderful job communicating God's Word in a logical, easy to read, meaningful and memorable way. A 10-word scripture verse, written in laymen's language, is then followed by a short explanation of what that verse means along with a thought provoking question for the reader. I truly believe this type of sequence is the perfect way for a young seeker and explorer to learn more about God through His Word. I highly recommend 10 Big Words!

We want our teens to have tools available at those moments they need them most. The bible can be overwhelming to anyone, especially teenagers. This book is perfect for anyone who feels they want to get to know the word of God better in a manner they can understand, relate to and use every day!
~Sally Vianello
Love this book. In our crazy busy lives, this gem is a perfect go-to book for a spiritual shot in the arm. Each page is short, sweet, to the point and thought provoking. The brief text (a comment and a question) after each 10-word verse is perfectly aimed at the tweens and teens among us. But more good news for the rest of us. Even though those great comments and questions are written beautifully for youth, they convey great insights and challenges that I think will speak to anyone. So I'd say this book gives a spiritual shot in the arm to everybody! I bought this for all my tween/teen grandchildren and more for others. Enjoy!

This book made learning Bible verses simple, by tearing them out and hanging them on my mirror. Throughout the week I saw connections from verses to my life. I would recommend this book to other teens for weekly inspiration.
